Ok, I have not written a review for an episode for quite some time on this site, but I just watched the latest Heartland episode and I feel the urge to put some of my thoughts out there about the Tim/Jack storyline in "Breaking Point".
I did not like to see the relationship of these two end after building it up for almost six years. Question is, why are the writers doing this? I have to admit my very first thought was, one of these two is considering to leave the show and they need to give him a reason why. But what would Heartland be without its rock aka Jack?! So honestly, that is not an option, is it?!
Tim leaving is more realistic but he already did that years ago and maybe- even not too many people think that way- he might have grown-up and would not abandon his family again.
On the other hand, I can hardly imagine these two living peacefully as neighbours after what happened, not to mention how it would affect the other characters.
I am really wondering what will happen in the next episode, but I somehow doubt we will see a Tim/Jack scene in the Finale.
Yes, everyone knows, it is very hard for me to be objective about the character of Tim (believe it or not, I sometimes catch myself feeling sorry for this guy '*winks*) but I think there must be something bugging Jack (aside from Tim´s behavior) for a long time or he just would not have blown up like he did. He almost threw Tim over the fence and punched him three times before Tim punched back.
I have read quite a few comments throughout Season 6 where people called Tim "likeable". Ok, I think this is history after last night.
When Jack said "I am done with you!", I already started missing the Tim/Jack banter I so enjoyed throughout the last years.
And one more thing Kudos to Chris and Shaun for a great peformance! Although I did not like the storyline, I enjoyed these two bringing out the best in each other in one of the most memorable fence scenes ever. You guys just rock!
