According to the Calgary Herald the show will start filming in late May 2013:

TELEVISION . In news that should surprise nobody, CBC has renewed fan-favourite family show Heartland for a seventh season.
The Alberta-shot series will go into production in late May for 18 episodes. The Sunday night show tells the story of the life on a horse ranch shared by two sisters and their grandfather. It has been filmed in and around Calgary, Mil-larville and High River since 2006 and stars Amber Marshall, Graham Wardle, Chris Potter, Shaun Johnston and Michelle Morgan."
